Loopdesk vs VEED (2026): Agentic or Assistive Editor?

Loopdesk and VEED are both browser-based AI editors with different bets. VEED is an assistive editor with a free plan, avatars, dubbing and subtitles in 188 languages; Loopdesk is an agentic editor where Aura plans multi-step edits, switches cameras by speaker and batches 50+ videos. VEED wins on breadth and entry price; Loopdesk on autonomy and watermark-free 4K.
Both run in the browser and both use AI, but they ask different things of you. This comparison uses VEED's own pricing, help-center and legal pages and public reviews, all read on October 9, 2026, plus Loopdesk's published specs. If you're weighing others too, see Loopdesk vs Descript, Loopdesk vs Opus Clip, Loopdesk vs CapCut and Loopdesk vs Premiere Pro.
Facts checked October 9, 2026 against VEED's pricing, product, help-center and legal pages, public reviews and Loopdesk's published specs. Full disclosure: Loopdesk is our product. What does VEED do better?
VEED has a free plan, a wider creative toolbox, more subtitle languages, a lower annual entry price, team seats with brand kits and a public API. If you make occasional marketing videos, want avatars or dubbing, or need to start without paying, VEED is the more flexible choice.
- A free plan to start. Free exports are watermarked, 720p and up to 10 minutes, but VEED also lets you try tools such as Clean Audio, Remove Silences and Clips once each.
- A broader toolbox. VEED documents AI avatars and talking characters, AI dubbing (29 target and 72 spoken languages), text-to-speech, voice clone, eye-contact correction and a screen and camera recorder on every plan.
- More caption languages. VEED's help center lists 188 transcription and 235 translation languages against Loopdesk's 108. (VEED's own pages also say "50+", "100+", "125+" and "150+", so its figures aren't consistent.)
- Lower annual entry price. About $9 a month billed yearly (VEED's video-editor page) against Loopdesk's $15 annual Lite plan.
- Team structure. Brand kits (one on Creator, several from Pro), up to 3-5+ editors and reviewer seats on higher plans.
- An API. VEED runs a separate API account with Fabric 1.0, Lipsync 2.0, Background Removal and Clean Audio; its Subtitles API is listed as "coming soon".
- Security attestation. VEED's Trust Center lists SOC 2 Type II (published May 7, 2026).
What does Loopdesk do better?
Loopdesk is built around an agent that plans and executes a whole workflow, switches cameras by speaker, batches 50+ videos and publishes, with watermark-free 4K exports and 25 GB of storage on the cheapest plan. If you turn long recordings into many finished videos every week, that is where the time goes.
- Agentic editing. Aura takes a brief, such as "remove silences, add captions, create three vertical clips", then plans and executes it. Every AI suggestion comes with a preview you can accept, modify or reject before export.
- Speaker-driven multicam. AI speaker detection picks the active angle for interviews and podcasts, with split-screen and picture-in-picture for overlap. VEED documents no multicam workflow. See Automatic Multicam Editing in 2026.
- Batch scale. Batch editing across 50+ videos with one set of instructions. VEED documents no batch editing.
- 4K and no watermark from the cheapest plan. Every Loopdesk plan has unlimited 4K exports and no watermark; on VEED, 1080p starts at Creator and 4K at Pro.
- Publishing in the same tool. One-click distribution and scheduling. VEED's help center says it doesn't publish directly.
- A no-training policy on every plan. See the data section below.
What about VEED's OpenEdit?
VEED describes OpenEdit as a "free, agent-driven video editing pipeline that runs on your own machine" with "no GUI and no timeline". It is in beta and needs an Apple Silicon Mac on macOS 26. That makes it a developer tool, not a browser editor; VEED's browser AI features are assistive.
For how agent tools compare, see Best AI Video Editing Agents in 2026.
Pricing compared
VEED is cheaper to enter, especially on annual billing, and has a free plan. Loopdesk costs more to start but includes unlimited 4K exports, no watermark and more entry-level storage. VEED bills per seat, and its monthly credits expire; Loopdesk's plans include monthly AI credits plus pay-as-you-go credits.

Data and AI-training terms: what is different?
On a VEED Free plan, VEED's Terms of Use (last updated April 22, 2024) grant VEED a right to "train and develop any AI models" using your content; the clause does not apply to paid subscriptions. Loopdesk's FAQ says it never uses your videos to train AI models. Read the current terms of any editor before uploading client work.
VEED's Privacy Policy (last updated January 6, 2025) says that objecting means deleting your account or upgrading, and that content from the mobile app is excluded. VEED's Trust Center lists SOC 2 Type II. Loopdesk's FAQ states that content is encrypted in transit and at rest, and that you can delete your files at any time.
What do reviewers say about VEED?
VEED is well reviewed on Trustpilot (4.2 from 3,895 reviews) and more mixed on Capterra (3.2 from 63 reviews, with ease of use at 3.5 and customer service at 3.3), as read on October 9, 2026. Reviewers praise its approachable editing and criticize credits, plan limits and the quality of AI output that needs tweaking.
- PCMag (roundup of online video editors, metadata August 2025) describes VEED as "closest in power to desktop video editing software" among the online editors it covers, and notes the Free plan is watermarked 720p, with exports up to 10 minutes.
- MakeUseOf (August 2025, a review of VEED's AI video generator) said "the AI needs in-depth prompting and a lot of tweaks" and that lip-sync is sometimes off.
- Capterra reviewers report credits running out quickly; one June 2026 review says "one video can easily take up half" of the monthly allowance. These are individual experiences, not a measure of every plan.
Loopdesk is newer and has too few public reviews for a like-for-like rating.
Which should you choose?
Choose VEED if you want a free plan, make occasional marketing videos, need avatars, dubbing, text-to-speech or a screen recorder, work in many subtitle languages, or need seats and brand kits for a small team. | Choose... | If you |
|---|---|
| VEED | Want to start free; make one-off marketing or explainer videos; need AI avatars, dubbing or voice tools; need subtitles or translation in many languages; want a screen recorder or an API |
| Loopdesk | Turn podcasts, webinars, courses or interviews into many finished videos; want speaker-driven multicam, batch editing across 50+ videos and one-click distribution; need watermark-free 4K from the first paid plan; want a no-training policy on every plan |

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Loopdesk better than VEED?
It depends on the job. Loopdesk is better for regular production from long recordings: agent-planned edits, speaker-driven multicam, batching and publishing, with watermark-free 4K on every plan. VEED is better if you want a free plan, avatars, dubbing, a screen recorder or more subtitle languages.
What is the difference between Loopdesk and VEED?
VEED is a browser editor with AI tools you apply yourself; Loopdesk is an agentic editor where Aura plans and executes multi-step edits from a brief. VEED has a free plan and a wider creative toolbox. Loopdesk has no free plan and focuses on prompt-driven editing, multicam, batching and distribution.
Is VEED free?
VEED has a Free plan, but exports are watermarked, limited to 720p and 10 minutes, with 2 GB of storage and 1 GB per file. Paid plans remove the watermark; 1080p starts at Creator and 4K at Pro. Loopdesk has no free plan, and no Loopdesk plan watermarks exports.
Does VEED have a watermark?
On the Free plan, yes. VEED's help center says exports from free and logged-out sessions carry a watermark and that it is applied at export, so you must re-export after upgrading. Paid plans export without it. Loopdesk has no watermark on any plan.
Does VEED train AI on my videos?
VEED's Terms of Use (last updated April 22, 2024) say that on a Free subscription you grant VEED a right to train and develop AI models using what you upload; the clause doesn't apply to paid subscriptions. Check the current Terms. Loopdesk's FAQ says it never uses your videos to train AI models.
What is a good free alternative to VEED?
Kapwing and Descript also have free plans with watermarks or limits, and DaVinci Resolve's free desktop version is watermark-free for normal edits but is a professional editor, not an online AI tool. Our AI video editor pricing comparison lists the free tiers side by side.
Which is cheaper, Loopdesk or VEED?
VEED's entry price is lower on annual billing (about $9 a month against Loopdesk's $15), but VEED bills per seat, gates 4K behind Pro and expires credits monthly. Loopdesk's $19 monthly plan ($15 annual) includes unlimited 4K exports and no watermark. Compare total cost for your own workflow.
Want to see the agent difference on your own footage? Open Loopdesk, upload one episode and brief Aura. Plans start at $19/month ($15 billed annually); there is no free plan, and exports are never watermarked.
