AI Video Editor Pricing in India (2026): Plans in Rupees Compared

Only some AI video editors charge Indian buyers in rupees. As of October 2026, Adobe Premiere, Canva, Filmora's mobile app, Microsoft Clipchamp's premium tier (through Microsoft 365) and DaVinci Resolve Studio list INR prices, while Descript, Kapwing and Loopdesk bill in US dollars. CapCut has been blocked in India since 2020. Budget for GST and, on dollar plans, your bank's conversion.
This guide lists which tools show rupee prices, which bill in dollars, how GST and card conversion change the amount you actually pay, and which plans suit a freelancer versus an agency. For the global view in US dollars, see our AI video editor pricing comparison.
Facts checked October 20, 2026 against Adobe India, Indian App Store listings, Microsoft India, Blackmagic Design India, vendor pricing pages, Canva, Apple and Google Play help pages, MediaNama's report on the RBI e-mandate framework and the US Federal Reserve's H.10 exchange-rate release (links under Sources). In-app prices can differ from web prices, and offers change, so confirm at checkout. Full disclosure: Loopdesk is our product; it bills in US dollars and has no rupee price.
Which AI video editors charge in rupees?
Adobe Premiere, Canva, Filmora (mobile), Microsoft 365 (which unlocks Clipchamp premium) and DaVinci Resolve Studio show INR prices to Indian buyers. Descript and Kapwing show US-dollar prices, VEED shows local currency only where it supports one, and Loopdesk bills in US dollars.

The Canva, Filmora mobile and Premiere iPhone prices come from in-app purchase lists on the Indian App Store, which show several price points for the same plan; web checkout can differ. Filmora's desktop price is from its US-dollar store page and our global comparison. VEED's FAQ says "Prices are listed in your local currency if available, and if not they are listed in USD," and we could not confirm a rupee price on VEED's own page.
Is CapCut available in India?
No. CapCut was among the Chinese apps the Indian government blocked in 2020: Inc42 reported on August 5, 2020 that ByteDance's CapCut was in a second round of about 47 apps, after the June ban on 59 apps that included TikTok. As of October 2026, the Indian App Store has no CapCut listing, while the US store does.
That is why CapCut Pro has no rupee price here. If you work outside India, our guide asks whether CapCut Pro is worth it. In India, the free mobile options in this table are Premiere on iPhone, Canva and Filmora's free edition; on a laptop, Clipchamp and DaVinci Resolve.
Which AI video editors bill in US dollars?
Descript, Kapwing and Loopdesk show US-dollar prices, and Filmora's desktop store and VEED (where it has no local currency) do too. Your bank converts each charge to rupees at its own rate and may add a foreign-currency markup, so the rupee amount on your statement can differ from a quick conversion. Check the markup with your bank.
Descript says Hobbyist, Creator and Business subscriptions are charged automatically to a credit card, and points teams that need other invoicing options to its Enterprise sales team. Kapwing's pricing page shows dollar prices; check its FAQ or checkout for the billing currency.
Two habits help with dollar plans:
- Use a card that is enabled for international online and recurring payments. Check this in your bank's app before you subscribe, so the first charge doesn't fail.
- Price the annual plan in rupees before you commit. Exchange rates move. A plan that looks cheap at signup can cost more at renewal if the rupee weakens.
How does GST apply to video editing software in India?
Online software and cloud services sold from abroad count as OIDAR (online information and database access or retrieval) services under GST. If you are not GST-registered, the overseas provider is supposed to charge you IGST; if you are a registered business, you usually pay it yourself under reverse charge. India Briefing puts the rate at 18%.
CBIC's flier on OIDAR lists "providing cloud services" and software downloads and updates among its examples, and explains the reverse-charge rule for registered recipients. Rupee prices tell you whether tax is in the number:
- Adobe's individual Premiere price says "incl. GST", while Premiere for teams (₹3,352/month per licence) says "excl. GST".
- Blackmagic's India page says DaVinci Resolve Studio's ₹31,980 does not include GST.
For a dollar plan, GST can sit on top of the converted price. For example, US$19 is about ₹1,804 at ₹94.96 to the dollar; if 18% IGST is charged on top, the total is about ₹2,129 before any bank markup. Agencies should ask each vendor for a GST invoice and ask an accountant how to treat the tax.
Can you pay for video editing apps with UPI?
Often, yes, especially on mobile. Canva's help center describes UPI for one-time purchases and UPI Autopay for Canva Pro subscriptions (not the Business plan). Google Play supports UPI for subscriptions, including UPI Autopay mandates. Apple's India billing page lists UPI Autopay, accepted cards and Apple Account balance for subscriptions.
That means buying through the Indian App Store or Google Play can be the easiest way to pay in rupees with UPI, even when the vendor's website bills in dollars. We could not find Adobe documentation confirming UPI for Creative Cloud in India, so check Adobe's checkout. Dollar-billed web tools such as Descript charge a card.
Recurring payments follow the RBI's e-mandate rules. According to MediaNama's report on the April 2026 framework, recurring charges of up to ₹15,000 per transaction can run without extra authentication, larger ones need it each time, and you get a pre-debit notice at least 24 hours before the charge. The rules cover cards, prepaid instruments and UPI, including cross-border payments. An annual renewal above ₹15,000 will ask you to approve it.
How do freelancer and agency costs compare?
Freelancers usually need one seat, watermark-free exports and month-to-month flexibility. Agencies pay per seat, need shared storage, brand assets and GST invoices, and burn through usage limits faster. Compare the team plan and its limits, not only the solo price.
| Tool | Solo plan | Team plan | Usage limits to watch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adobe Premiere | ₹733.96/month incl. GST (₹389 in year one) | Premiere for teams, ₹3,352/month per licence excl. GST | 100 GB cloud storage solo; 1 TB on the teams plan |
| Canva | Pro ₹3,999-4,000/year (App Store) | Canva Business ₹6,800/year (App Store) | Not stated on the App Store listing; check Canva's plan page |
| Descript | Hobbyist $16/month billed annually | Business $50/month per person billed annually | 10, 30 or 40 media hours and 400, 800 or 1,500 AI credits a month (Hobbyist, Creator, Business) |
| Kapwing | Pro $16/month billed annually | Business $50/month billed annually | 1,000 credits a month on Pro; 4,000 on Business |
| Loopdesk | Creator Lite $15/month billed annually | Enterprise, custom pricing | AI credits worth US$5 (Lite) or US$25 (Pro) a month; 25 GB or 100 GB storage |
For freelancers: start monthly, and only switch to annual once a tool has survived a few real client projects. Check that the plan allows commercial use and exports at the resolution your clients expect. If budget is tight, Clipchamp's free tier exports 1080p without a watermark, and DaVinci Resolve's free version doesn't watermark normal edits.
For agencies: multiply every per-seat price by your headcount, then add GST. Ask for GST invoices, centralized billing and shared brand assets. Credit-based AI plans are harder to forecast for a team, so ask whether credits are pooled or per seat. Whatever you choose, compare the subscription with the cost of hiring a video editor; for a shortlist by business size, see our best AI video editor for small business guide.
How much does Loopdesk cost in rupees?
Loopdesk bills in US dollars and has no rupee price. At the Federal Reserve's H.10 rate of ₹94.96 per US dollar for October 16, 2026, Creator Lite is roughly ₹1,424-₹1,804 a month and Creator Pro roughly ₹2,944-₹3,703, before GST if charged and your bank's charges. There is no free plan or trial.
| Plan | Price in USD | Approximate INR (₹94.96 per US$, Oct 16, 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Creator Lite, monthly | $19/month | ≈ ₹1,804/month |
| Creator Lite, billed annually | $15/month ($180/year) | ≈ ₹1,424/month (≈ ₹17,093/year) |
| Creator Pro, monthly | $39/month | ≈ ₹3,703/month |
| Creator Pro, billed annually | $31/month ($372/year) | ≈ ₹2,944/month (≈ ₹35,325/year) |
| Enterprise | Custom | Ask Loopdesk |
These conversions are approximate and only illustrate scale; your card statement will differ. Creator Pro billed annually (about ₹35,325) is above ₹15,000, so on an Indian card its renewal would need your approval under the e-mandate rules.
What the dollars buy: Loopdesk is an agentic AI video editor that runs in the browser. Its assistant, Aura, removes silences and filler words, makes rough cuts, switches multicam angles by speaker, generates highlight clips, reframes to vertical and batch-edits 50+ videos from plain-English prompts. Every plan includes unlimited watermark-free 1080p and 4K exports and commercial use, captions cover 108 languages, and the Text & Motion panel has an Indian Languages category of styled text. Creator Pro adds all AI models, premium agents and 100 GB of storage; Enterprise adds team workspaces, role-based access, real-time collaboration and up to 2 TB.
The limits are just as clear. Loopdesk needs an internet connection, has no native mobile app, and its dollar billing means a conversion and possible card markup every month. See current plans on the pricing page.
